Monika Savier, originally from Aachen, Germany, founded TRE BALZANE stud in 1988. In addition to her profession as a researcher for the www.bbjshare.it NGO and as breeder of straight Egyptians, she has been working as an Equestrian Journalist for 15 years. In 1995, she published the Italian copy of the ASIL ARABIAN BOOK by the Asil Club, and two years later, the text content of the book “Stallions in Europe” (Turin 1997) edited by horse photographer Gigi Grasso. She has written a whole number of articles for renowned journals in Italy such as “Tutto Arabi” (All Arabian) and “Desert Heritage”. The photographs for illustrating them she takes herself. Her articles have been published in English and Italian, with many of them also translated into Arabic to be published in Equestrian journals all through the Middle East.

Elisabeth Auer, born in Austria, is Stud Manager of Tre Balzane. She is a highly experienced horse trainer and equine physiotherapist. The breeding farm enjoys her outstanding coordination and management competence. At the centre of her thoughts is the HORSE, not only as a sports-oriented creature to be trained and bred, but above all as an individual to be taken care of with high levels of professionalism as well as suitable and innovative methods.

Davide Montori, born in Castel Ritaldi, has extensive experience as a jockey on the race track in Rome, as well as in the training of Thoroughbred horses and now of purebred Arabians. He breaks the stallions of the stud to the saddle and is the competent assistant of Elisabeth Auer for all jobs to be done in the stud.

Alina Massman, born in Germany, is a student with the University of Perugia. Despite her young age, she is a highly experienced rider who supports the stud during her time off from university.

The veterinarians of the stud

Dr. Simona Orvieto, veterinary and gynaecologist, is the stud vet who manages the matters of the stallion station on the stud. She coordinates all technical and scientific aspects of semen production, insemination, and semen delivery throughout Europe.
